We had a great Christmas in Milwaukee. We left Tuesday to beat the bad weather that was forcasted for Wisconsin- 4 to 7 inches of snow Tuesday and 4 to 8 on Wednesday. Thankfully the roads were great and we made it without the headache of driving on slick, snowy roads. We got to Sarah and Matt's house around 9:30 at night and Drew and Erik were already asleep. We'd planned to let all the kids sleep together in sleeping bags on the floor. We put Jacob and Kyle to bed in the same room with Drew and Erik and our boys went right to sleep. We thought all was well. At about 1:00 in the morning Drew realized that his cousins were here and couldn't contain his excitement. Soon, all four boys were up... in the middle of the night. The boys were up on and off for the next couple of hours. Poor Sarah kept going in there to quiet them down and tell them to go back to sleep, but the excitement was too much. Jacob and Erik were making a list of what they were going to do the next day, Kyle was singing Jingle Bells... it was one thing after another. When Sarah finally had them all quiet and had fallen back asleep Jacob came in her room because his tooth fell out. Talk about a rough night of sleep. Mel and I were on the lower level so we didn't hear all the commotion and didn't realize the "slumber party" was a bust. The next night we got smart and split up the boys. They slept much better until about 5:00 when the "early riser" woke up everyone else to see what Santa brought. This time I got up with the kids since they were on my level of the house and were dangerously close to ripping through all the presents while the grown-ups slept!
