Memorial Day

We took the boys to Historic Fort Snelling yesterday. Jacob was really interested in the history of the buildings and what they were used for and he could have spent the entire time watching the blacksmith demonstration. Kyle was more interested in climbing...the stone walls, the stairs in the lookout towers, etc. We also drove through Fort Snelling National Cemetary which is always a very sobering and humbling experience. There were so many people there. Most of them probably had loved ones buried there. Others came to honor the soldiers who fought for our country.

We spent the rest of the afternoon with my mom's group and their families for a picnic. It was a great day to enjoy the sunshine, good food and good conversations.
