But instead our weekend started like this.
We were driving down to Destin, FL on the Gulf Coast for a long weekend and never imagined we'd have to worry about the weather on our drive. It's definitely not what we expected in southern Georgia and Alabama.
When we got into Florida and stopped for a late lunch, we thought we were finally out of the snow. And as we were eating, it started snowing again. Everyone in the restaurant (workers included) were excited to see the snow. People plastered their faces to the windows and went outside to take in the rare sight. An employee in her thirties said she'd never seen snow in all her life except on TV. An older lady asked Jacob and Kyle if they'd ever seen snow before. Um yeah, we've seen snow.
Thankfully by Saturday and Sunday it had warmed up enough to enjoy the sand and surf.

The boys played in the sand and looked for shells.
They danced...
Oh wait they're not dancing. they're wrestling.
More photos to come of our mini vacation.
